David Vitter deserves the most Yo-Yo's we award for his sleazy activities with prostitutes as well as his actions as the Republican Senator from Louisiana. He was a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives from the 81st district. This is the seat previously held by David Duke, the former Grand Wizard of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan. Duke finally ended up in jail for tax evasion and is now reported to be in Austria (the birthplace of Adolf Hitler).
In May 1999, Vitter became a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Louisiana's 1st district, following Bob Livingston, who was forced to resign due to his extra-marital sexual exploits. (Larry Flint exposed Livingston during the Clinton days.) Vitter was succeeded, in the House of Representatives, by Bobby Jindal, the Governor of Louisiana who spends most of his time traveling to other states to raise money for his campaign and for other Republicans. Jindal is hoping he can run for President in 2012. After John Breaux decided to retire and forego helping the people by becoming a lobbyist to help himself, Vitter replaced him U.S. Senate in 2004.
When the DC Madam scandal broke there was hope that Vitter would be forced to resign. Unfortunately, the Senate was controlled by the Republicans who couldn't take a chance on a Democrat being appointed by the Governor. The Senate ethics committee whitewashed the whole thing and claimed Vitter had not violated any rules. Bernie Pinsonat, a Louisiana political analyst, said Republicans would stand behind Vitter despite the new allegations, citing support from religious organizations and conservative commentators. Vitter is a Catholic and is pro-life which explains the support of the Catholic Church.
The day after Vitter acknowledged being involved with the so-called D.C. Madam, new revelations linked him to a former madam in New Orleans. Jeanette Maier said Vitter was a former client of her brothel. She pleaded guilty to running the operation in 2002. Another prostitute, Wendy Yow Ellis, also revealed her relationship with Vitter in New Orleans. In an interview in the New Orleans Times Picayune Ellis stated, "It was a rule that I could not wear any perfume, body lotions, not even take a shower," Ellis said. "Because he did not want any scent on him whatsoever. He would always come in, hang his jacket on the door, go into the bathroom and take a shower. He would come out with a towel wrapped around him and sit down on the bed. We'd talk. And then he'd do his business." She also said that "usually people would leave their condoms in the trash can," but Vitter would take his used condoms with him. What is it about these Rhodes Scholars? Unlike Clinton, Vitter learned to take the evidence with him.
Stormy Daniels, the porno star and producer, with support from fans, attempted a campaign against Vitter. Unfortunately she was arrested last year for assaulting her husband in Florida and dropped her efforts to challenge Vitter. Charlie Melancon, the only Democrat representing Louisiana in the House of Representatives, is now challenging Vitter in the coming November Senatorial race. The polls are showing the two in a dead heat at this time. Remember the good ole days before John Breaux became a lobbyist? It was nice having a Cajun helping out the folks in Acadiana. Born and raised in Napoleonville on the Bayou Lafourche, Melancon would be a partial return to those good ole days. We didn't like Melancon's vote against the health-care bill, due to the abortion issue, but realize that with the heavy Catholic population in this area, a pro-choice candidate would have trouble being elected in this area. However, we feel that having another Democratic Senator during a Democratic administration in Washington would be more helpful than a sleazy Republican like Vitter.
